Forcare launches new product at HIMSS 2012

Zeist, February 9th, 2012. At the HIMSS 2012 Conference in Las Vegas (Feb. 20-24) Forcare will launch forBridge. ForBridge enables the exchange of patient information between health information exchanges. Forcare is first to market with this standards-based solution.

ForBridge is based on the Cross-community Access (XCA) integration profile from IHE – Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise. This profile defines a set of standard web-services to exchange clinical documents between health information exchanges. ForBridge also supports XCA-I, a recent extension for the exchange of diagnostic images, and was recently validated for both XCA and XCA-I conformance at the North-American Connectathon in Chicago.

Andries Hamster (Forcare's Chief Marketing Officer): "ForBridge is a unique product because it will enable standards-based connectivity between XDS Registries in multiple health information exchanges. ForBridge enables a more distributed approach to implementing a health information exchange. Instead of building a massive central registry it enables connectivity between a series of distributed registries, even to the individual hospital level. This opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. With its built-in support for interfacing with a Master Patient Index, forBridge is also able to translate patient identities from one community to another in order to discover what patient information is available."

ForBridge and the other XDS-based products from Forcare are on display at HIMSS 2012 (booth #3873) and at the HIMSS IHE Interoperability Demonstration (booth #11000).
